Membership of JKU Institute of Leadership and Counseling (JILC) is open to all qualified individuals and corporate organizations who seek professional ways to develop their careers.
The members of the Institute are equipped with the requisite tools that are needed for them to excel in dynamic environments of life. There are opportunities for people with various skill sets and knowledge levels to learn and grow at their own pace. The members of the Institute are divided into two main branches which are the Individual members and Corporate Members.

The candidate must have acquired 12 years of working experience, 7 years of which must be in leadership or managerial involvement with evidence of community responsibility.
Membership at this stage will be allowed to use the institute’s prestigious post-nominal letters of (FJILC) on correspondence, business card, and resume. This membership stage can only be open to direct membership or upgrade membership through our strategic workshop/conference.
Requirement: the applicant for this stage must hold a minimum of first degree (B.A., B.Sc., B.Engr., HND or its equivalent), in any discipline from a reputable institution. A second degree shall be an added advantage provided he/she is an entrepreneur of note or in leadership or management position of any reputable registered organization.
Applicants for Membership in this stage need to attend a compulsory induction workshop in the Executive Courses in Leadership, Entrepreneur, Counseling and Corporate Governance. Upon completion and approval by the Governing Council of the Institute, candidate will be elected and inducted as Fellow of JKU Institute of Leadership and Counseling.
The candidate must have acquired 8 years of working experience, 5 years of which must be in leadership or management support.
Membership at this stage will be allowed to use the institute’s prestigious post-nominal letters of (MJILC) on correspondence, business card, and resume. This membership stage can only be open to direct membership or upgrade membership through our strategic workshop/conference.
Requirement: the applicant for this stage must hold a minimum of first degree (B.A., B.Sc., B.Eng., HND or its equivalent), in any discipline from a reputable Institution and a second degree shall be an added advantage. In addition to this, applicants for this stage will have to undergo a compulsory two days intensive workshop organized by the institute.
Upon completion and approval by the Governing Council of the Institute, candidate will be elected and inducted as member of JKU Institute of Leadership and Counseling.
To maintain annual membership of the institute, a member needs to attend and participate in a minimum of four (4) mandatory continuing education course of the institute.
The candidate must have acquired at least 3 years of working experience in a structured organization and must be involved in the strategic management or counseling processes. Candidates applying into the institute’s Associate Membership needs to hold a minimum of first degree/Higher Diploma with the required working experience aforementioned.
Applicants for this membership stage do not need the institutes’ examinations but will need to undergo a compulsory two days intensive workshop/conference. Thereafter, the candidate will be inducted in a very colourful ceremony, in order to celebrate our newly elected members into the word of professionalism. Those seeking an upgrade from Graduate Membership will require our Board’s Consent. Please note that those on the upgrade will not need to be inducted as induction is once. This will give a unique edge and career advancement.
Membership at this stage will be allowed to use the institutes’ prestigious post-nominal letters on (AJILC) correspondence, business card, and resume demonstrating the membership.
Student membership is the entry membership level of JILC; providing opportunity for upgrade of membership upon graduation. Membership at this level is open to undergraduates of government accredited tertiary institutions (polytechnics, colleges of education and universities).
